If you were growing in the 90s, you undoubtedly fell under the category of being head over heels in love with Pamela Anderson.  Forget her short stint of the hit ABC sitcom Home Improvement, it was Baywatch that sky-rocketed most of us pre-adolescents into orbit.  Austin, Texas own Sweet Spirit are also smitten with the model/actress; their single “Pamela” is a soulful, energetic pop banger ode to the one that stole all of our hearts so many years ago.

Ghettoblaster is proud to premiere the video to “Pamela” today.  Shot and edited by Sean Daigle at the Hotel Vegas booze cruise, the party boat brilliantly captures the essence of the song.

Here is what singer Sabrina Ellis says about the video:

“Slow motion is exciting to watch. There’s a sense of voyeurism, when given the ability to stretch a moment out, and to stare at that moment as it unfolds. There’s a subtle naughtiness to it. Slow motion allows us to see the full arc of a movement, the build up, climax and follow through of a bouncing body part. And we can’t look away.

How apt, to set this footage to a song about the Queen of Life Saving Slomo, Pamela Anderson. While we sing our admiration for the brazen beauty, the camera flirts with pure fluidity, shots so slow they are almost still, and the kinetic dinge of drummer Danny’s ever burning cigarette.“

The single “Pamela” can be found on Sweet Spirit’s latest full-length St. Mojo, which is released today via Austin label Nine Mile Records.

The One With All the Birthday Presents

On this episode: Luke rudely interrupts our introduction and is very rude to Brian, our dear cousins play a game of Shark Tank and Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, Brian plays a total “Luke Song” and Luke plays a total “Brian Song,” they get into some deep topics like if it actually pays off to be meek and how sometimes you need to take care of your own well being first before you can take care of others, and of course they play eight of the best songs you’ll hear this week.

Every week Ghettoblaster feature writers (and dear cousins!) Brian LaBenne and Luke LaBenne bring you fresh new songs with the hopes of introducing you to some that you may consider to be the best song ever.  Both Brian and Luke have no idea what songs the other has picked, so what you are hearing is their genuine reaction to listening to the songs together.  Also, if you enjoy this episode, head to ITunes to subscribe and rate our podcast with the highest rating available to you.
