924 Gilman Street’s name has surpassed even its own notoriety. For decades it’s been known as the DIY, nonprofit, all-ages venue for music art and community events in Berkeley, CA. Both Green Day and Rancid began performing at venues like 924 Gilman, “Anything that has to do with working with Gilman and Tim and Joey Armstrong, consider me in,” says Billie Joe. “This is about our home and family.”

Rancid has shared another new song and video today, this time for the band’s political anthem “Telegraph Avenue”. Akin to the video for the band’s previous shared song “Ghost of a Chance” the video features the band getting together and playing in a garage.

The new Rancid album Trouble Maker is to be released on June 9th via Hellcat/Epitaph Records. This is the ninth studio album for the punk legends and the follow-up to 2014’s critically acclaimed …Honor Is All We Know. Trouble Maker was produced by Rancid’s longtime producer and founder of Epitaph Records, Brett Gurewitz.

Trouble Maker will be available on CD, digital, and vinyl formats. The deluxe digital version will include two bonus tracks “We Arrived Right On Time” and “Go on Rise Up”. A vinyl deluxe version of Trouble Maker comes with those tracks on a bonus 7”. Pre-orders are available at rancidrancid.com.

...And Out Come The Wolves
…And Out Come The Wolves

Autumn + Colour recently announced that Killing Kuddles has joined their roster. Killing Kuddles is a folk-punk band from Atlanta, Georgia that plays fast indie pop songs that are camouflaged by punk attitude and sprinkled with some Americana spirit. You can now stream Killing Kuddles’ new single Nobody” here: http://www.autumnandcolour.com/aesthetics/say-hello-to-killing-kuddles.

Ghettoblaster recently caught up with Elwood Kuddles to discuss one of his favorite albums, Rancid’s …And Out Come The Wolves.

What is your favorite album?

All time favorite – Rancid’s …And Out Come the Wolves.

Do you remember when you received or purchased the album?

Yes!

What is your favorite song on the album?

It changes a lot, that’s probably why it’s my favorite record. But right now I would probably have to go with “The War’s End”

What is it about the song that resonates with you?

It’s short sweet and to the point. Minimal lyrics on a great song will get me every time.

Have you ever covered a song from the album?

Not on a stage. Not yet anyways.

What is it about the album that makes it stand out against the band’s other output?

It’s one of the more poppy of their albums.

Have you ever given a copy of this record to anyone?  What were the circumstances?

Pretty sure I gave it to my younger brother. So it’s probably collecting dust somewhere.

Which of the records that you’ve performed on is your favorite?

Odd Man Out.

What is your favorite song on the album and why?

“Dropped the Pop” because it’s about growing old and wanting more for your kids.

Universal Music Enterprises today announced it will release Rebirth, the new studio album from Grammy Award-winning musician, actor, singer, songwriter and producer Jimmy Cliff, on Tuesday, July 17.   Rebirth once again pairs the reggae superstar with the award-winning producer and punk legend Tim Armstrong, who produced the thirteen-track album. Armstrong also produced Cliff’s Sacred Fire EP which was released late in 2011, and Rolling Stone magazine hailed the music as Cliff’s “best music in decades.”

Cliff is currently touring the world and kicked off the U.S. leg on June 5, in Brooklyn, NY, at Celebrate Brooklyn! Opening Night Gala and Concert at Prospect Park Bandshell. See below for a complete list of remaining tour dates.
