Circle Jerks documentary to hit DVD in September

My Career As a Jerk, a film about the Circle Jerks will be available on DVD September 25 through MVD Entertainment Group.  The film chronicles Circle Jerks’ early days, wherein former Black Flag vocalist Keith Morris teamed up with Red Kross’s Greg Hetson, drummer Lucky Lehrer and bassist Roger Rogerson, until their hiatus in 2010. We expect that the flick will also touch on the members’ current projects too, which include Bad Religion and OFF!

Power Of The Riff Festival 2012 lineup announced

This week the return of the annual day-long invasion of Los Angeles has been confirmed via the 2012 installment of the massive The Power Of The Riff Festival.

Continuing to bring you a tradition of heavy music from slow drones to aggressive crust ridden darkness, The Power Of The Riff will burn down LA on August 11th, marking the gathering’s third annual installment. Co-curated and organized by Southern Lord, TPOTR is an event that honors extreme music fans and musicians of all ages, tapping into a lineup that represents the forefathers, milestones and current national touring acts, while shedding light on up-and-coming and local acts. The all-day fest also includes a record swap-meet of local stores and pop-up stores by indie record labels, DJ sets in between band performances and a gourmet food truck court featuring Los Angeles’ best purveyors of street food dining.

Set to take place at the Echo/Echoplex, the initial lineup for The Power Of The Riff 2012 at press time includes:

DeLuna Fest 2012 adds Bob Mould, OFF!, more to lineup

DeLuna Fest has added 10 more acts to their September 21 to 23, 2012 lineup. The newest artist additions include Reggae legend Jimmy Cliff, Bob Mould plays Copper Blue, Trampled by Turtles, Blackberry Smoke, OFF! and Red Kross. Also added to the lineup are late night DJ sets from Diplo, 12th Planet, Paper Diamond and AC Slater. Last month, the third annual music festival hosted on Pensacola Beach announced headliners Pearl Jam and Foo Fighters with Florence and the Machine, Band of Horses, Dwight Yoakam, Ben Folds Five, Guided By Voices, DJ Jazzy Jeff and many more. A third headliner will be announced in mid-June. For a complete listing of artists announced so far, see below.

A limited quantity of advanced price festival weekend passes are available for $159.95 and can be purchased at www.delunafest.com.
