The One With Thor Talk

Every week Ghettoblaster feature writers (and dear cousins!) Brian LaBenne and Luke LaBenne will be bringing you fresh new songs with the hopes of introducing you to some that you may consider to be the best song ever.  Both Brian and Luke have no idea what songs the other has picked, so what you are hearing is their genuine reaction to listening to the songs together.  Also, if you enjoy this episode, head to ITunes to subscribe and rate our podcast with the highest rating available to you.

SoCal’s brightest new talents The Young Wild will release their EP All The Luck on April 15 via Fairfax Recordings. The EP was produced by Kevin Augunas (The Lumineers, Black Keys, Cold War Kids) and The Young Wild’s Bryan B William and Brandon Zedaker. Bryan explains, “The songs on this EP are about being wide open to the misadventures and moments that challenge us the most. That they are all worth going through even if it nearly kills you.”

The San Diego-based band shared the title track from the EP today – listen to “All The Luck” HERE

Talk In Tongues will release their debut LP on May 19, if you pre-order it digitally now, you’ll get the band’s two current singles “Still Don’t Seem To Care” and “While Everyone Was Waiting” instantly. You can also pre-order the vinyl via Origami Vinyl and get a limited edition white 7″ single with “Still Don’t Seem To Care” b/w a Dungen remix of the same track. The band will be playing a bunch during SXSW next week and then will stay on the road for the next few months!

With production from Kevin Augunas (Cold War Kids, Edward Sharpe), their debut album, out in May 2015 on Fairfax Recordings, links modern-day psychedelia with the foundation of early ’60s experimentation-it’s melody and atmosphere and noise-as-beauty captured (barely) in songs that should be blasting out of the Coachella main stage somewhere around midnight.
