David Bazan will be touring the U.S. later this summer, performing an intimate series of shows in the homes of fans. Bazan, the songwriter and driving force behind indie band Pedro the Lion, built a large following based on his extraordinary melodic sense and insightful lyricism. A decade later, Bazan found himself dealing with a crisis of faith and a growing drinking problem. Bazan got to work exorcizing both his demons and angels, producing two incredible pieces of work under his own name in the Fewer Moving Parts EP and the 2009 full-length Curse Your Branches.  The tour begins August 16 in Bellingham, WA and ends September 23 in Bend, OR. Tickets for these dates are available via undertowtickets.com.

David Bazan

David Bazan, former frontman of Pedro the Lion, came back in the fall of 2009 with a debut solo LP, Curse Your Branches, that blew away fans and new listeners alike. That album was step one in the reintroduction of Bazan as one of the savior songwriters of indie rock. Now he’s back, releasing his second full length, Strange Negotiations, a journey through his thoughts on politics, American culture and life as a touring musician. We had Bazan, a proud Seattleite, answer a few questions about where to find the best beer, his favorite pork sandwich and things not to do on a date with your future spouse.

Pick up Strange Negotiations in your favorite local record shop tomorrow, May 24.
