Song Premiere: GoodnightGoodnight, “I Love You Fiercely”

Helen Keller said, “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched – they must be felt.” The forthcoming album from Dayton, Ohio’s GoodnightGoodnight was written, recorded and mixed by the trio from a community where feelings have been running deep. In addition to devastation brought by tornados in the spring, and affecting the most economically disadvantaged areas of the community predominantly, a mass shooting resulting in nine casualties also occurred just steps from one of the local music venues the band calls home. Love is a commodity that GoodnightGoodnight’s family, friends, neighbors and city are needing to feel more than ever these days.

Set for independent release on CD and digital formats, November 16, I Love You Fiercely, was produced by the band in their home studio as they tackled the idea of “loving with all of your heart, self-reflection, risking heartbreak, and even letting go of love at times.” While the album captures the distinct sonic nuances and orchestration brought to bear by the group, it also pays homage to Disintegration-era The Cure and is inspired by contemporaries like Beach House and Cigarettes After Sex.

The band release the album on November 16 and will celebrate with a release show at Blind Bob’s in Dayton, Ohio, with friends A Voice of Your Own, Siren Suit, Slow Glows and a live painting from Tiffany Clark of Mural Machine. The band is currently booking tour dates in support of the LP for late winter and spring, as well as a summer tour of the Midwest.

A portion of the proceeds from digital sales will be donated to Oxford House, a 501(c)3 organization that offers democratically run, self-supporting, and drug free homes and offers individuals with self-help for sobriety and relapse avoidance.
