Obnox to release Bang Messiah via Smog Veil on October 5

Smog Veil Records have announced the release the next punk/psych/funk/hip-hop album by Cleveland’s Lamont “Bim” Thomas, aka Obnox, titled, Bang Messiah. Fans of Bassholes, Puffy Areolas, This Moment In Black History, and X___X will be fascinated by the sound explorations on the record which will be available on CD, vinyl LP and as digital download.
Obnox is the solo project of prolific multi-instrumentalist and Sandusky, Ohio native Lamont “Bim” Thomas (drums, rhythm guitar, tambourine, tympani, vocals). However, Bang Messiah, also features the talents of MFKN RMX the Bang Messiah providing beat production and programming for the record; Viggatron on select vocals; Eli Hanley on Wurlitzer, Rhodes, MiniBrute, and piano; and Jason Drexler plays keyboards for the track “Find My Way.”
Obnox is Cleveland’s reigning one-man industry of punk-junk-funk and draws comparisons to Swell Maps, Teengenerate, and Beefeater. The album was recorded at Electrical Audio by Steve Albini from January 17 to 20, 2017 and was mastered by Adam Smith.
