The 23rd Sound Check Chat podcast with Elena de Soto and Greg Green, the organizers of The Wrecking Ball Music Festival in Atlanta, is live. The podcast is sponsored by Earthquaker Devices (http://earthquakerdevices.com/), Ghettoblaster Magazine, YouIndie.com and Frame Jump Music Videos.  The podcast is available here: http://goo.gl/gMQFUE
The inaugural 2015 installment of the Wrecking Ball music festival is set to hit legendary Atlanta music venue The Masquerade on August 8 and 9. Featuring 60 bands on 4 stages during the two day event, the Wrecking Ball marks the 25th anniversary of the Masquerade with performances by several bands that have made it a destination point on the national touring scene.
Wrecking Ball features several flavors of music: the soaring riffs of Coheed & Cambria, the in-your-face, tongue-in cheek stylings of Descendents, and a reunion from melodic hardcore masters, Thrice. That’s just the beginning…  a seemingly endless cavalcade of soul stirring artists such as Glassjaw, the Movielife, The Get Up Kids, American Nightmare, Basement, Braid, Yuck, Title Fight, Samiam and Knapsack will roll through over the weekend.
The festivities will kick off on Friday August 7 with a special punk rock karaoke pre-party. An all-star lineup including Greg Hetson of Bad Religion, Derek O’Brien of Social Distortion and The Adolescents, Eric Melvin of NOFX, and Stan Lee and Edward Tater of the Dickies provide a legit soundtrack for Friday night pre-party goers to perform their favorite punk rock anthems.
Previous podcasts included interviews with Boys Life, Afghan Whigs, Mineral, Grieves, The Jazz June, Lazer/Wulf and more.
