Thee Oh Sees announce hiatus, break from touring

After 14 years, San Francisco garage-punk outfit Thee Oh Sees have announced an indefinite hiatus.  Speaking with SF Weekly, the band’s tour manager Annie Southworth explains that the band will be coming to a halt as frontman John Dwyer makes the move from San Francisco to Los
Angeles. Further, a break from rigorous touring and recording is something the members have wanted for a while.
Just in case the news of the hiatus got you all worried about the future of Thee Oh Sees, the band have shared the following message:
DEAR OH SEES FANS,
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT.
THE BAND IS NOT BREAKING UP.
THIS IS JUST A WELL DESERVED BREAK AND A TRANSITIONAL
PERIOD.
A NEW Thee Oh Sees LP WILL BE OUT EARLY 2014
AND WE WILL SEE WHERE THE LIVE SHOW GOES FROM THERE…
UNTIL THEN, BE WELL
